The healing powers of Jesus Christ

If you have read the Bible, then you know of all the miracles Jesus has created. From making the blind to see, to actually bringing people back form the dead. He did all this with just a touch of his hand, but how can we be healed if we can not be physically touched by the hand of Christ?

A perplexing question at first until you realize the answer. We do not need the actual physical touch of Jesus Christ to be healed. We only need the belief that Jesus Christ can touch us. Belief is a very powerful word. People all around the world claim to be healed by the power of Jesus Christ and the one thing they all have in common is a storng belief in our Lord and saviour. They all believe in His healing powers, although they can't physically see him or feel His touch. They know inside that it was by His powers and His powers alone that they were healed.

The evidence that a belief of spiritual healing is possible is witnessed  by the use of Spiritual healing in a major medical facility in the United States. One of the prescribed methods of treatment at this hospital is Spiritual. They believe (that is the hospital believes) that you can be healed by a Spiritual nature and so they include this in there regiments of treatments. If it was not possible to be healed by a Spiritual force (Jesus Christ) then why would a major medical facility put this into there treatment options? Simple. They know what we know.  They know the power of prayer. They know this, because they have seen people healed by it. They know the power of God and His Son are so great that nothing can get in the way of it.

Now, I am not saying that every prayer will be answered and everyone will be healed just because they believe. What I am saying is it is possible. It is possible to be healed by the power of Jesus Christ.

I ask you to look at your own life. What needs to be healed in it. Jesus is not just about healing physical ailments. He also wants to help in other ways. Remember, He turned water into wine and made food from of nothing. He has the power to heal what ever it is we need. All we need to do is ask and to have the belief that it can be done. I pray everyday. Not just for me, but for others around the world. Although my prayers do not always get answered, the prayers I pray for someone else just might. Why some prayers are answered and others are not I do not know, but I have seen the power of Jesus' healing hand. I have seen peoples lives turn around in an instant by the power of prayer and a belief that it is possible. Miracles do happen. Jesus does heal. All you need to do is believe.

Unanswered Prayers...

Speaking from experience, I know the feeling of praying everyday and never seeing any results. How many of you have prayed everyday and feel that your prayers are not being answered? I am sure there are a lot of you, me included. That said, I must now say that although I never saw all my prayers being answered, many of them were. The problem was, I was so caught up in all my other problems that I missed the answers God was sending.

Let me try and explain. Most people pray for money or pray for health reasons, would you agree? I know I did. But amongst those prayers, I always added other ones. Okay, I never really prayed for world peace or anything like that, but I did pray for my family and friends. I even prayed for people I never met. I remember one of my friends was going through a really rough patch in her life. She just lost her job and did not know how she would pay the bills. I remember praying for her and within a week she had a new job making more than she did at her last one. Because I was so caught up in my own problems, I never really paid attention to hers. It wasn't until God finally opened my eyes that I saw the answers

Sometime Gods puts the answers right in front of our face and we miss them. Not on purpose, but because we are so blinded by everything else that we miss what is right in front of our eyes. On the night I was going to take my own life, God pointed out to me that poem "Footprints". Why then? I mean it was always there. It had been in our house for years, but it wasn't until that night that God opened my eyes and it was like I read the poem for the very first time. God was telling me to LOOK, LISTEN I am giving you your answers. On that day I finally looked and I listened and I am here today.

I guess when I was praying I was always looking for something big to happen. If I did not see it, then I felt my prayers were not being answered. I never looked for the small stuff. I never saw the little things going on behind the scenes. When I wrote my poems and I was looking to get them published, I sent them to a bunch of people to get their opinions and no one answered. So I felt here is another prayer unanswered. That was until a few weeks later. One of the people I had sent the poems to was Joel Osteen. He runs what some may consider the largest church in the country in Houston, Texas. Although I sent him my poems, I really did not expect to hear back from him. However, a couple of weeks later in the mail I received a book from him entitled "Making Wise Choices". Under the title it read "Your decisions determine your destiny". I never ordered the book and it came with an order form that said $0.00 amount due. I read the book, and it was one of the reasons I sent my poems to a publisher. This is what I am talking about when I say the little things going on behind the scenes. I had prayed to God for help with my poems and getting them published. Since I did not see anything big happening, I just assumed that my prayers were going unaswered. When in fact they were not. God had started the ball rolling.

We have to understand that God does not do everything. He will open the doors for us, but it is up to us to step through. We just have to keep our eyes open so that when He does open a door, we see it. We need to take the blinders off and look at the big picture. If I did not see that poem that night, chances are I would not be here today. If I did not receive that book in the mail from Joel Osteen, I might have never sent my book to a publisher. What I am trying to say is that when we pray, God is opening doors all over the place for us. He wants us to step through. Sometimes though, God may keep a door locked. We may pray for something and He may not feel it is the right time for us to proceed on that path. He answers prayers in His time and not ours. The journey of life is not always going to be paved with gold, we all know that. Sometimes there are going to be bumps and pot holes, or in my case and maybe yours, mountains and craters. But with God on our side we can cross those obstacles.

If you pray and and your prayers have yet to be answered, open your eyes. Maybe the answer is right in front of you. If not, maybe God does not feel this is the right time. Know that God loves you and only wants to help you. He wants you to live a happy and meaningful life. Sometimes to get what we need we have to wait. In my case I prayed for a year and half straight, day and night and I still got to the point of suicide. Today, I have a good job, I am a published author and I wake everyday thanking God for the life He gave me. Don't give up. If your prayers are unanswered know there is a reason. No matter what you are going through in life there is a reason.

Now here is the most important point I want ot make. You need to pray everyday and not just when you need soemething. Most people tend to pray only when they have problems and they need help. You need to pray everyday. Pray and thank God when things are going right in your life. Don't just come to Him when you are in dire straights. Yes, He wants to help you when you need Him, but you need Him all the time not just when things aren't going well. I ask you today even if things are going great in your life to take a moment out of your day and pray. It's not all about you. Many people around the world could use your prayers. I know I pray for a lot of people not just myself. I have people email all the time asking me to pray with them and I do. We are in this together, so lets pray together. A world that prays together stays together. I hope God is answering all your prayers and if not give it time and don't give up.

Your past is forgiven...

I spoke with someone the other day and we were talking about where we grew up. As the conversation progressed, he started to tell me about all the trouble he used to get into. I asked him is he was a Christian and said he was, but felt that because of his past he shouldn't be. I then asked what he meant by that. He told me he had done so many things wrong in his life that he felt God would never forgive him. I looked him in the eye and told him that on the day he became a Christian God forgave everything. God is now only interested in your future. With that said, he told me he felt some relief, but I could still see he was troubled about it. I'll admit it is hard to overcome soemthings we have done in our past. But if God is willing to forgive us, then why can't we forgive ourselves?

Once you ask God for forgivness, you are forgiven. I notice a lot of people tend to dwell on their past indiscretions. Why? As a Christian you need to move on from your past. Once God has forgiven us, we need to move forward. We need to stop living in what used to be's and start living in what could be's! I too have made many mistakes in my life for which I am not proud, but who has not. I have moved on from those mistakes and refuse to relive them. In 1 John 1:9 it says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from unrighteousness". What that says is, if we confess our sins we are forgiven. So why dwell on them? You have your whole life to live ahead of you.

Now, if you have sinned and you have not asked for forgiveness, this is the time to do it so, so you can move on with your life. I know sometimes it is hard to do when you have people constantly reminding you of everything you have done wrong in your life. I know I have also been there, but why let those people influence the great things that God has given to you. In 1 Peter 3:13  it says "And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good". You are a child of God, the creator of all and He has forgiven you. So don't worry what other people say. Eventually they will have to face our maker and He will remember what they have done. Hopefully, they will ask for forgiveness before that happens. Instead of worrying about them, forgive them and move on.

I ask you today to stop living in the past and to start living your future. Life on earth is short, so we need to make the best of it. Don't let others try and keep you down. Stand  proud knowing that God is with you at all times. He even sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ to die for us. Jesus was willing to sacrifice himself so we can have eternal life. He wants us to live... SO LIVE!!! Take today to start fresh and stop living in the past, before life passes you by.

If you can’t trust God, who can you trust?

Sometimes I get so frustrated answering the same questions over and over again. Then I realize that this is part of being a Christian. This is what I am supposed to do. God has called upon me to spread His word, and if that means repeating the samething a million times over, then that's what I need to do.

Obviously, I do not have all the answers and I am not as versed on the Bible as many others. I read the Bible, but I still ask questions. I do notice that there are a lot of different views on the exact undersanding of each passage, but they all come to the same conclusion.

It is hard to try and explain to someone why there life is the way it is. I know for me everything that happened in my past was because I did not listen when God answered. If I did not see what I wanted to see, then I just accepted it as unanswered prayers or that God was not listening. Many a night I questioned God and many a night I went to sleep with deep sorrow. God knew the direction my life was heading as He does with all of you reading this. He knows every step, every thought every breath you take before you take. HE ALSO KNOWS THE ENDING. That is why it is so important for us to look, listen and feel for the signs from God. They are right in front of us if we are willing to open our eyes.

I wish I had the powers to explain everyones problems. It took a year and a half for me to figure out mine and once I did, I finally saw the big picture. I believe in life that everything happens for a reason. Everything in our life has been planned for us, even the questions you ask of God have been planned. The fact that you are reading this blog right now was planned by God. I have read other peoples blogs and I have found answers to my own questions in them. It's about opening up and letting God and Jesus Christ into your life. Without them you are always going to have questions, but no where to look for the answers.

God knows that there are many people who are on the edge of belief. That is where we as Christians have a responsibility to act. It is our job to help those individuals who are not sure of the big picture to open there eyes and let them see it. Life throws many challenges at us, but isn't nice to know that you have God and Jesus Christ at your side while you go through them. Let us work together and help others enjoy the same. I have had the privledge of seeing many a person who for the first time has accepted Jesus Christ as there personal Saviour. Let me tell you, it is one of the most amazing events I ever witnessed, and yes it is an event. You can see the person actually transform right before your eyes to the point they are almost glowing. I get chills just thinking about it.

We as Christians have a duty to act. We have been called upon by our Lord and maker to spread the word. Whether it is in peron or even on MySpace, we have an obligation to help those who are reaching out for salvation. Together we can heal the world.
